Ello all, decided to attemp writing a program under the linux OS and heres the results:

Basically the program allows the user to set a static or dynamic ip and select a nearby wireless network.
*Features*
The program refreshes every 30 seconds adding the found Access Points to the drop down list.
Output of data on the found networks, signal strength etc
Integrated console which automatically displays progress of the IP change process and allowing the user to execute commands such as iwconfig ifconfig etc etc
i might add a WEP encryption option if im feeling board its not like theres anything else to do *cough* AP, SS, SD *cough*
