Computer Mouse using a Dead Mouse

This is bloody disgusting!

From Hacked Gadgets

Obtain a small travel-size (hardware) mouse. This one is a wired mouse that is way to small to use comfortably every day, but perfect for going inside of a mouse. Obtain a similarly-sized (wetware) mouse. These are commonly available fresh or frozen from pet stores, or any other place that sells reptile food. It’s easier to fit a small object into a large mouse than a large object into a small mouse, so err on the side of caution. You can always fill extra space with cotton balls. If you’ve got an optical (hardware) mouse, make sure to choose a pale-furred (wetware) mouse for lightest skin pigment – this will be important later.

Limited TCP connections

There was a “problem” with XP SP2 that limited the number of TCP connections allow to something stupid like 10. lvllord created a patcher that patched the TCPIP.SYS file Linky

Vista also seems to have this problem and a patcher has been released here: Linky!

Enjoy!

Everingham Rotating House

Nice article on hacked gadgets about a funky rotating house:

Linky

Quote from the site:

“The Everingham rotating house is a 24-metre diameter octagon with a 3-metre, 360-degree verandah. The exterior walls are mostly glass and steel, and it has a COLORBOND® roof. The entire structure, weighing approximately 50 tonnes, rotates up to 360-degrees if and when desired, within a 180 degree retainer wall and a 180 degree fixed deck and railing. The concept is the result of nearly a decade of intermittent research, planning and design, and ten months of construction over a two year period consuming all disposable time. The project was completed in March 2006. The idea was born when our neighbours were expounding the virtues of their new home and commented that if they could start again they would orientate the house 15 degrees more to the north. Deb said Wouldn’t it be handy to have a house that could move?”

Wireless and Fiesty Fox

I had some serious problems getting my Proxim/Atheros Gold PCMICA card to work under edgy/fiesty but after hours of messing around with driver versions i have finally got the bitch working!!!

I found a post by this chap at the ubuntu forums Linky!

For this to work i needed the wlanconfig command which is bundled in with the madwifi-tools package so a simple:
sudo apt-get install madwifi-tools
Installed the wlanconfig horahhhhhhh!!!

Then :
wlanconfig ath1 create wlandev wifi0 wlanmode monitor
Created a new wireless interface called ath1 which allowed me to use the interface ath1 with airodump.

Im gonna test this with a test router in work and report back :D

Why im not safe let out

I was over at The Jam Factory helping Darren put up some of his artwork for an exhibition they’re having.

We took a break from screwing stuff to the walls and grabbed a news paper and a pint-o-the-black stuff…don’t be stupid, you cant drink bovril..anyway..we were sitting outside and there was a chap on the roof water flowers or something and needed a hand with his ladder. So i jumped up and moved the ladder totally not noticing that i had set the newspaper down on the candle on the table. I didn’t notice until Darren showed me the burnt news paper:

The news paper was swiftly hidden!

If anyones in the oxford area and fancies taking a look the exhibition is starting tonight (16th) and is running for 3 weeks.

Darren designed some nice artwork for the flyer’s and posters:

Well done there chap ;-)
