VirtualBox Mounter

Ive been playing around with virtualbox recently and found it to be 100 times better than VMware.

Once nice feature is being able to share a folder from the host OS to the guest OS. To do this you tell virtualbox what folder your want to share and in the guest OS network mount the drive.

To make life a bit easier i’ve created a small app that will help with mounting and un-mounting drives

VMware on Ubuntu

Ive been messing around with VMware on ubuntu and have a nice little XP image that im going to install all my windows security tools etc onto in the hope that I can nuke my vista partition and get the laptop solely running on Ubuntu.

I ran across a problem getting the VMware image to recognise my USB drives etc but i found a post on the ubuntu forums Linky!

add:

usb.generic.skipSetConfig = "TRUE"

to .vmx file of the virtual machine.

and there we go :D

Why im not safe let out – Take 2

why im not safe let out part 1 is here!

I went to Mr Neilo’s house for on Saturday and we ended up having an impromptu BBQ! Mr Mike came over and several Tiger and Smirnoff Ice later we set about firing up the disposable BBQ. Now I don’t know what happened but what happened next is like something out of a 3 stooges film.

We decided to put the BBQ on top of the glass patio table, thinking the glass is tempered of course! So the BBQ was heating up nicely when the glass decided it had enough and cracked!

Even tho the table was cracked it was still quite sturdy as mike investigated:

oh dear!!

Tho the death of the table was sad neilo has gained a rather stylish BBQ holder:

and combined with a bit of wood its a damn good BBQing system!

We may have set fire to the garden at some point too

Good burgers tho!
