h4x the planet!

Quite a good movie i have to say, i wasnt expecting that much to be honest.  Ill give a brief run down and try not to give too much away.  Basically the president of the USA gets assassinated and you see the story from 4 or 5 points of view so basically you watch the first 10 minutes of the film over and over and over and over.  There were quite a few groans from the audience when it looped for the 5th time, but hey you all know what you were getting into!  After the loops the story progresses with the odd semi flash back.  I thought it was quite like memento where the viewer Isn’t too sure whats going on and knows as much as the protagonist.  I quite like the ending as you see all the different paths converge, definitely  one to go and see!

I installed the beta version of opera mini on my WM6 HTC Kaiser today, what’s that you say? nino? opera? i know!!

I’m a huge user of firefox, I cant stand IE and Opera in fact, I don’t think I know anyone that uses opera!! Anyway i digress!

I was having issues with finding a suitable browser for my hand held, minimo (firefox mobile) takes an age to load and at times can be very unresponsive. The combination of PIE and PIEplus was getting there but the zoom feature on PIE for WM 6.1 leaves a lot to be desired!

I stumbled across Opera Mini 4 when to my shame i googled “WM6 iphone like browser”, as much as i hate apple i have to hand it to them they do have some clever ideas when it comes to software, i just cant bring myself to be a smug, polo neck wearing ****.

There’s an online java demo of the opera browser here Opera Mini Demo.  The zoom function is seamless as is flipping between page. I have also found the pages load up much much faster.

The best thing is this piece of software is free! So if you have a java enabled device, lets face it they all are, then grab this! Download

Decided i might start sticking down some reviews, might make me shift my lazy ass and post something!

Me and beckymo went to see Untraceable last night. Being in IT security i like to chuckle at hollywoods attempts at portraying hacking. Lots of use of buzz words, blank on green unix terminals that sorta thing. I was quite impressed with the technical talk in the movie, it was quite accurate and made some form of sense! The movie itself was quite good though i couldnt help but feel it was a HUGE rip off of the SAW series. If you fancy a bit of technology related torture its a must see!

Edit: it would seem i was having a bit of a retard moment and wrote the review for untouchable instead of untraceable DO’H!

Decided to make a major overhaul of the site. I figured using a piece of blog software that hadn’t been updated in a few years was possible not the most secure thing in the world!

Ive moved to wordpress and im liking it so far, the modular approach for the side colums is an excellent idea. I had a few problems importing the content from the old blog but with some SQL trickery i managed it okay.

Accessing the gallery at the minute is a little dirty, im making use of a horible big iframe but as of the minute im not sure how im going to overcome that. The issue is 2 fold, i can use a php include on the wordpress header and a i cant use a php inclue on the gallery software which gives i think only leaves me with the option of hard coding in the banner etc to the top of the gallery and editing it if and when i add new sections, fun!

I did a heavy bit of editing on the theme and its still not fully there, still a few shades off in places.

Other than that i think it looks pretty damn hot!
